Vaira is a suspense thriller released this week which is directed by debutante Navarasan.

Vaira, is basically a revenge drama, but the director intelligently narrates it to cater all genre audience with good amount of friendship, love and thrilling scenes. He has made sure the screenplay is engaging enough for about 110mins.

Coming to the storyline, A wannabe Actress is found missing in Madikeri and the suspect is a photographer who shot her pics in an event and the investigation leads to a haunted house and the story unfolds.

The first half of the film seems slow because the screenplay looks a familiar one,but it takes good turn towards the interval. The post interval scenes are very engaging and audience are sure to glue to the seats.

The first time director Navarasan is impressive. The shot composition of few scenes doesn’t give the feel that he is a debutante. The pre interval and climax scene are composed veey well. As a director he is here to stay.

The background score of Ravi Basrur is the major highlight of the film. Time and again he is proving to be the best in the business.

Apart from Tabala Nani and couple others, the rest of the cast is new and thy have justified their selection.

Tabala Nani is a treat to watch in this film. He has got a meaty role in this film.
Navarasan,Priyanka Malnad and Raghav(character name) performance stands out among others.

Overall Vaira is definitely watchable film if you are game for suspense thrillers. Worth spending this weekend watching this film.

Music: V Harikrishna

Written and Directed by: Chethan Kumar
Release date: Sep 15th, 2017

Dhruva sarja is back to the ground  after a very long gap and he hits a Sixer .

The recently released trailer and the songs coupled with Dhurva Sarja's sensational dance moves with Massy dialogues  raised expectations on the film.

Let’s Find out if the movie was worth the wait or not as director hero duo are back after their previous super hit Bahaddur.

Dhruva Sarja called as Surya in the movie is happy go lucky guy with the boy next door looks and a  carefree attitude. He is the doting son to his mother who loves him to the moon and back.

Dhruva hates to see loved ones getting separated , but why ? we gotta watch the movie to know why.

Whilst Dhruva aspiring to become a soldier , His mother’s only aim is to find a suitable bride for her adopted son and Surya comes across 3 female leads in the movie as the story progresses along with them.

Was his mother successful in finding the right girl for Dhruva? Did he become a soldier ?  forms the crux of the story.

It is Dhruva’s Show all the way, he has lived and loved the character he has played and does it with ease. All the 3 female leads do the job neatly but its Rachita ram and Haripriya who excels amongst them. The supporting cast has some big names from the industry and all have done justice to their respective roles.

Challenging Star Darshan Fans have a reason to rejoice as Darshan has given a voice Over which is blended well and also adds value to the movie.

Director Chethan has excelled in all the departments and has exceeded the expectations in his 2nd movie. It’s not an easy task to work on various departments like Story-screenplay-lyrics-dialogues and to excel in each of them.

This movie proves that he is not a one time wonder director and we could comfortably say that we have got a director who is worth the praise and accolades this movie might fetch.

Dhruva’s characterization in the movie would be a rage amongst the youth. The hero elevation scenes , the massy dialogues are top notch.

Other Highlight of the movie is the fights choreographed by Vijay and Ganesh which is at par with the other industries, especially the Train fight receives huge applause from the audience.

Cinematography by Shreesha is a very pleasing. Even though the 2nd half seems bit dragged but for a commercial entertainers like this its inevitable.

V.Harikrishna’s two songs are foot tapping and other songs were average. But his Background Score is one of the main highlights of the movie.

All in all this is Family commercial entertainer which can be watched by the whole family with no hesitation.

Toss is the New movie which hit the silver screens across Karnataka this Friday , starring Vijay Raghavendra , Sandeep and Ramya Barna in the lead roles.

Director Dayal Padmnabhan who is known for variety in his movies has yet again come up with a different movie where a Coin’s tossing plays an important role too.

The story revolves around 3 main characters i.e. the two heroes and the heroine.

No points for guessing that both the male leads who are close friends  fall for the same girl and will they choose love or retain the friendship forms the crux of the story.

Vijay Raghavendra has literally lived the role, he is on a roll this year after Mesmerizing performance in chowka he is back in this movie and right to the expectations he has delivered it.

Sandeep - the new comer who gets a equal space role as Vijay raghavendra’s has also performed well and he is here to stay.

Ramya Barna – who is deprived of good roles generally has got a meaty role in this movie and has lived up to the expectations

Technical Department:

Dayal Padmanabhan who is a strong technical writer and director has come up with this movie and has played to his strength yet again.

Background Music by Gowtham is apt and at times it seems loud but it matches the tempo of the movie and audience hardly concentrated on the BG music, such is the tightness in the script. The bit songs are refreshing.

To point out there are some drawbacks too,the film could have been more lavish, since the film is shot 4years ago, we can even find some timeline issues, but they are negligible since the plot isn’t old.

Movies like this should be applauded and lapped up by the audience. Another plus point of the movie is the Run time which is only 97 mins which is a welcome development in the Kannada cinema.

Rating : 3.25/5

When was the last time we all saw a Kannada horror movie with fantastic research work and befitting screenplay writing? Classic horror movies are a rarity in kannada cinema arena.

So, first of all a big hearty congratulations to the talented director KM Chaitanya who has touched the horror genre in a very effective manner, though a remake it will definitely made a mark in to the audiences mind.

Aake starring Chiru Sarja, Sharmila Maandre has everything the audience would expect from a horror genre movie

Sharmila Mandre is wannabe actress and she gets separated from her husband as he preferred film career over her and their one-year old child. At one point of time, Sharmila gets threatened by a money lender and hence she decides to participate in a contest to watch a horror movie and the condition is to watch it alone in the movie hall with no declination of Blood pressure or pulses as they are totally monitored. You should watch out the film on big screen to know the rest of the suspense and surprise.

This movie cannot be totally rated as a horror movie as this has a sensational crime angle to it as well. The director has beautifully dealt about the life style of present generation too.

The one and only negative aspect about Aake would be its slow pace narration, it can be overlooked by the content of the film. Also Editing could have been better at places to make the movie crispier.

KM Chaitanya has come up with horror movie after his highly successful Aatagara and we could say he has done a neat job.

Talking about the technicalities of the movie – BGM from Gurukiran is top notch and it could be rated as one of the best BGM for a horror movie.

Performance wise, Chiru Sarja has really done a fabulous Job, but the whole movie sits on Sharmeila Mandre’s Shoulders and she has tried very hard to balance it. We could say she has achieved the task but could have done wonders with little more effort.

Supporting actors like Prakash Belavadi,Sneha, Achyuth,Balaji Manohar have supported well and add essence to the movie.

This movie could boast of high productional values as Eros international have ventured in to Kannada cinemas through this movie and they live up to the standards they have set.

All in all this movie is a well made horror thriller movie, though doesn’t cater much to Front Benchers, it will be liked by class audience.

Cineloka Rating : 3.5/5
