Film: Jagath Kiladi
Director: Arav B Dheerendra
Cast: Niranjan Kumar Shetty, Ameeta Kulal, Jai Jagadish, Rangayana Raghu, Suchendra Prasad and Kaddi Vishwa
Jagath Kiladi is a remake of Tamil box-office hit Sathuranga Vettai. Director Arav B Dheerendra has faithfully followed the original version. He has succeeded in conveying a message to the audiences along with providing entertainment for 159 minutes. Had he tried to put little more effort in ensuring the screenplay crisp and extracting the required acting from the lead pair, this film would have the best one re-made so far this year.
The story is about a conman who does not hesitate to stoop any level to earn money. He, along with his team, launches attractive finance schemes to cheat gullible people who invest their hard-earned money. At one point of time, as it happens in any film with similar script, he ends up landing behind the bars but as expected gets released from the prison. What happens to him and what he does, to save himself from his victims, who lost money, is the climax.
As far as performance of the artistes is concerned, Niranjan Kumar Shetty got a good opportunity to showcase his acting skills but it seems he did not utilized this opportunity to optimum level. Even the heroine Ameeta Kulal disappoints the audiences. Her character in this film failed to get empathy and sympathy from the audiences. The other artistes such as Jai Jagadeesh, Rangayana Raghu and Suchendra Prasad have provided the much needed support. Music director Vijay Prakash has done a good job while lyrics by music director V Manohar are also good.
This Kananda version may interest you if you haven’t watched Tamil version as it does have an interesting plot with some good twists.
